Solar thermal installers and technicians install or repair solar energy systems designed to collect, store, and circulate solar-heated water for residential, commercial, or industrial use. They install solar collector mounting devices, copper or plastic plumbing, circulating pumps, controllers, sensors, heat exchangers, and monitoring systems, using appropriate tools and materials. They test the operation or functionality of all systems: mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control. They also perform routine maintenance or repairs to restore solar thermal systems to baseline operating conditions.
